Photo Mode

[IMAGE / VIDEO: Photo Mode — screenshot / clip]

Flip the camera body's photo/video selector to PHOTO and Z Assist follows automatically: the top banner remaps to Aperture · Shutter · EV (exposure compensation) · ISO · WB, and the bottom tabs become MONITORING, CAMERA SETUP and IMAGE SETUP. The layout stays identical — only the button assignments change.

TAKE PICTURE
The round white shutter button replaces REC in the right rail (and in fullscreen). The live feed keeps running while the body writes the file; as soon as the camera announces the new picture its own JPEG pops onto the HUD for the review duration — no frozen preview frame in between. Pictures taken with the body's shutter button are reviewed the same way.
ST (photo self-timer)
Off / 2 / 5 / 10 s countdown before the capture fires — big digits on the HUD; tap the shutter again to cancel. Also in Body Control and Options → PHOTO.
Shot counter
The top-banner counter shows the frames REMAINING on the active card (from the body's ExposureRemaining). An 'S' prefix on the body's own display marks values in thousands — the app always shows the exact number.
REV (review duration)
Sets how long a taken picture is shown on the HUD after capture — 1 to 10 seconds. Tap the review image to dismiss it early.
Exposure Meter
A draggable vertical meter (MONITORING tab) mirroring the body's exposure indicator, with +/− buttons that step exposure compensation by the camera's smallest increment.

Photo focus modes differ from video: AF-A (auto-switch) is photo-only, AF-F is video-only. Photo AF-area adds Pinpoint, Dynamic-area (S/M/L) and 3D-tracking. The pickers always show exactly what the body offers in the current mode. Configure the photo top banner and tool buttons in Options → PHOTO.
