Gang — all cameras at once

[IMAGE / VIDEO: Gang — all cameras at once — screenshot / clip]

GANG sends REC / STOP, Take photo, ISO, shutter (speed or angle), aperture and white balance to every connected body at the same time — the controls you already use simply act on all cameras while the chain is on. In the Multi View bar, after the camera chips, tap the chain-link chip ALL: it reads ALL 3/3 (bodies in the gang / connected) and every ganged chip shows a small link icon. Tap again to switch it off. It is off by default and not remembered across sessions.

With the gang on: REC on the right rail (or a window's REC chip) starts every body together — each camera's red dot and the REC badge's "2/3 cams" count come only from the bodies that CONFIRMED, so a camera that did not start is obvious at once; tap again to stop all. In photo mode the shutter fires all bodies. Picking an ISO, shutter, aperture or WB value writes it to the live camera and then — within milliseconds — to every other ganged body, also while recording; each chip keeps showing what ITS body reports — a body that refuses a value shows a red ✕ on its chip for a few seconds and keeps its own setting (e.g. a lens without that aperture). To truly match the source, the gang does what you would do on the other body's dials: on an R3D body whose base-ISO band (Low 800 / High 6400) does not contain the sent ISO it switches the base band first; a body in shutter-speed mode is switched to angle when the source sends an angle (and vice-versa). It cannot override a body that sets a value itself — Auto-ISO, a P/A/S or U-mode exposure program, Auto WB where the body has no such preset — those come back as a refusal with the reason. The gang is a one-way fan-out from the live camera to the others — every write is addressed to a camera slot, nothing is routed through a shared channel. A change made ON a body itself (its dial or menu) stays on that body: the app never pushes one camera's own change to the others.

Every linked value you change flashes a small pill under the top banner — GANG · ISO 3200 → C1, C3. A green border means every ticked body took the value; amber with ✕ C2 means a body refused. The GANG MEMBERS sheet keeps the detail per camera: a green ✓ line with the last value delivered and when, or a red ✕ line with the reason a body refused (Auto ISO on, value out of range, different shutter mode…).

Long-press the ALL chip for GANG MEMBERS. One tick box per connected body: untick a camera to leave it out — it keeps its own settings while the others move together; the chip reads e.g. ALL 2/3 and the left-out body shows a grey broken-link icon. Tick it again (or EVERYONE IN) to bring it back; a value changed ON a left-out camera stays there. The camera on your screen carries a MAIN · SOURCE badge: it is the camera the others follow — tap MAKE MAIN on another camera to make it the source without leaving the split. Every row shows what that body reports (ISO · shutter · aperture · WB) and, in red, the last gang write it refused with the exact reason — e.g. "✕ ISO refused · Auto-ISO is on on this body", "body is in U1, not M", "ISO 800 is outside this body's R3D range 1600–51200 (base ISO High)", "F1.4 is not available on this body's lens", "this body does not offer Auto white balance here" — until a later write of the SAME control succeeds on it (an OK aperture never hides a refused ISO). Choices are kept while the app runs, even with the gang off, and reset at the next launch. Close with DONE, the ✕, or a tap outside.

LINKED CONTROLS chooses what the gang carries while it is on — REC · PHOTO · ISO · SHT · APT · WB; switch one off and that control stays per camera. SEND NOW copies a single value from the live camera to the other ticked bodies right away (tap ISO 800, 1/50, F2.8 or the WB chip) or everything with MATCH ALL — handy for a body that joined late or refused a value, and it works with the gang off too. REC ALL starts every ticked body together (live camera included); while any of them rolls it reads STOP ALL. Everything else (picture profile, focus, LUTs, tools) stays per camera. A camera that disconnects leaves the gang and rejoins when it reconnects (keeping its tick); the iPhone-camera test source is never part of it, while demo cameras follow the gang like real bodies so you can rehearse with one real camera. Remote Viewers see the gang state and the REC count but cannot toggle it.
